IRCTC now has allowed its users to cancel tickets online and get a refund for the same online. How to cancel a ticket online?
If you want to cancel your tickets then you need to visit the website of IRCTC and then login into your account using irctc login id and password create.
Once you have logged into your account you need to go to the option where you can see the tickets you have booked.
You just need to look for the option of cancel ticket; as soon as you find it you need to select it and after confirming it your ticket will be canceled and your refund will be done to the account with which you have done the payment.
Rules for the refund of tickets -
There are certain rules which the users need to consider when they are looking for a refund so that they know how much refund they are going to get for their tickets.
If the ticket has been canceled before 48 hours of preparation of the chart then only you are going to get the refund for your ticket. Any ticket canceled after this will not be refunded.
Rs. 240 will be deducted for AC 1st class tickets, Rs. 200 will be deducted for AC 2nd class, Rs. 180 will be deducted for Ac 3rd class, Rs. 120 will be deducted for the Sleeper class ticket, Rs. 60 for second class tickets will be deducted when you will go to IRCTC to cancel the ticket.
